Client Case Study : The Weed Patch

he Weed Patch is a retail gift shop located in Bothell's Country Village. It is owned by ... wait for it ... Chris & Janene Tindall, and Janene's parents Don & Esther Cunningham. We have owned the store since September 2005. Owning The Patch has given Chris extensive experience both in running a brick and morter storefront as well as establishing and growing an ecommerce storefront.

The Weed Patch website utilizes the X-Cart framework, along with several 3rd Party modifications. It has undergone 2 major revisions, with a 3rd on its way (two are visible below, in the Gallery).

With very little cash expenditure for marketing purposes, the website consistently generates income for the store.

Additionally, Chris has done all the advertising and print media for The Weed Patch. The Patch put out a full color magazine style print newsletter, a monthly ad in a local publication called Country Pleasures, numerous greeting cards, flyers, postcards, and more.

Newsletters

From The Patch is a full color magazine style print newsletter that The Weed Patch put out. It was initially meant to be a monthly deal; then, due to cost and time involved, it was switched to a quarterly. We felt this was not often enough, so it switched to a bi-monthly, with 4th quarter having one per month. Regardless of the changes in frequency, it became an extremely anticipated publication by Weed Patch clients. It has not been sent since early 2008 due to budgetary restrictions.
